NASCAR's best and brightest made their way to the Hawkeye State for the 2024 Iowa Corn 350, the first-ever Cup Series race at the short track.

It proved a daunting task for some of the sport's finest, as Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch were among those to feel the effects of the new surface, falling down the leaderboard under the crunch of Iowa's gauntlet.

In the end, only one man could claim the title as the Cup Series' king amid the cornhusks. Here's what you need to know regarding the results of Sunday's Cup Series race, the Iowa Corn 350.

Who won the NASCAR race today?

Ryan Blaney captured the checkered flag at this year's Iowa Corn 350, outgunning Hendrick Motorsports star William Byron to claim his first win of the season.

Blaney, the reigning Cup Series champion, was dominant from the front, leading more laps on Sunday (200) than he had during the whole of the season prior. He had to ward off quite the challenge from the No. 24, who pushed hard in the final dozen or so laps to make things interesting.

With 80 of his closest friends and family members in attendance, Blaney delivered another strong showing. He made history in the process, becoming the first Cup Series driver to win at the site.

He celebrated in style, too, finishing the day with a tire burnout — a gesture he rarely does, even after the most momentous of victories.
