NASCAR fans can rejoice as the Monster Energy Cup Series returns to action following a weekend off for the Easter holiday. But like every weekend, the NASCAR schedule continues to make fans wonder when and what channel the race will be on. Its last race two weeks ago took place on a Saturday, for example.

The next race marks a return to the Cup Series' normal day and time on Sunday afternoon and to one of NASCAR's most iconic tracks at Talladega for the Geico 500. The 2019 racing schedule moves past the quarter-pole with its 10th race of the season as Kyle Busch sits atop the standings.

Coverage of Sunday's race at Talladega begins at 2 p.m. ET on Fox. The race will be the 100th ever Cup Series race at the 2.66-mile track.

Talladega is notorious for its speed — look no further than Bill Elliot's record speed of 212.809 mph in 1987 — thanks in large part to it being the longest track on the circuit. As a result, NASCAR will be unrolling some further changes to its rule package in an effort to slow cars and make the race safer. For the first time since the 1980s, a restrictor plate will not be used on Cup cars.  A tapered spacer will be used in its place instead.

Additionally a taller spoiler and other aerodynamic modifications will also be added to the cars this weekend, creating several unknown for the racers.

Martin Truex Jr. won the most recent Cup race two weeks ago at Richmond by barely holding off a charging Joey Logano. History, however, suggests that Logano may be the favorite headed into Alabama as Ford drivers have won the last seven Talladega races. Logano already has one win this year in Las Vegas and sits second in point standings.

Brad Keselowski, Logano's teammate at Penske, leads all active drivers with five career wins at Talladega and has won the Geico 500 three times. If someone is going to challenge Team Penske, the Busch brothers may be just the duo to upset the apple cart.

Kyle Busch in the only driver to finish inside the top 10 in every race this season. His three wins in the first nine races places him at the top of the standings but he hasn't won a Cup Series race at Talladega since 2008. His brother Kurt has a history of more success at Talladega with an average finish of 5.3 in his last three races there. Kurt has finished 10th or better in six of his last nine races at Talladega.

Led by eventual winner Aric Almirola, Stewart-Haas Racing owned the track the last time the Cup Series was at Talladega. Stewart-Haas drivers led 154 of the 193 laps and sat in positions 1-2-3-4 for 72 percent of the race.
