Erik Jones will start Friday night’s Xfinity Series race from the pole position. The Food City 300 is scheduled to start shortly after 7:30 ET at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Jones took the pole position with a top lap of 127.903 mph, edging out his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch. JGR took the top three spots overall, with Daniel Suarez qualifying third.

The session was delayed as rain hit the track shortly after it started.
Jones earned his seventh pole position of the season. He has three wins, two from starts on the front row.
Jones recently announced that he’ll be driving in the Sprint Cup Series next season, for Furniture Row Racing.
Sprint Cup drivers also staged qualifying in Friday. Their race is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at the Tennessee track.
