Formula One star Romain Grosjean is interested in racing in NASCAR's Sprint Cup series by taking advantage of the links Haas F1 has to the U.S. circuit.
Haas executive Joe Custer earlier this week confirmed the team's desire to give Grosjean an opportunity with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Grosjean, of France, would relish the chance to compete in North America's top stock car series but added there are no plans in place at the moment.
"Definitely, I want to do it," Grosjean said. "It's something we discussed since day one and it would be a great experience.
"When it happens, I don't know. With 21 [F1] races it is quite tight.
"You don't want to start on an oval, I wouldn't be very comfortable. We will find what is possible to do."
The Sprint Cup schedule includes two road courses — at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Neither race at the two venues conflicts with an F1 race this year.
However, Stewart-Haas Racing fields the maximum four cars permitted under NASCAR rules. It's unlikely any of the full-time drivers — team co-owner Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch or Danica Patrick — would step aside.
Stewart-Haas does, however, have an affiliation with HScott Motorsports, which has Clint Bowyer driving before he moves over to replace Stewart after his retirement from driving after this season.
This week, NASCAR runs at Dover with all three national series in competition.
