Despite the challenges presented by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, NASCAR is on track to finish its 2020 season.
NASCAR revealed the final stretch of this year's adjusted schedule on Aug. 7, and while the Cup Series will keep its 10-race playoff in place, the Xfinity and Truck Series schedules have seen a few changes.
The Xfinity Series regular season will end with a Sept. 18 race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The playoff opener will now take place on Sept. 26 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
As for the Truck Series, the regular season will end at Richmond Raceway on Sept. 10. The playoffs will start at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 17.
"The one fortunate part of this latter part of the season and the playoffs is we were able to keep the original tracks and dates intact when it came to the Cup Series, but definitely they have had to be flexible with integrating some of the other series into those events so that they had a good championship schedule as well," NASCAR senior vice president of competition Scott Miller said.
"It has been again, just like everything else, just a lot of great teamwork between the teams, NASCAR and the venues."
