NASCAR at Indianapolis: Results, highlights from Brad Keselowski's Brickyard 400 victory image

The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series wrapped up on Monday from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with the Brickyard 400.

Brad Keselowski took back-to-back races after winning the Bojangles Southern 500 on Sept. 2nd and winning the Brickyard 400 on Monday. Keselowski led for nine of the 160 laps. 

Kyle Busch is the regular season champion. He finished in 8th place today and will receive 15 playoff points to add to his total and carry over to each round.

Jimmie Johnson and Alex Bowman clinch the final two playoff spots after finishing today's race in 16th and 33rd place respectively. 

The Monster Engery Cup Series playoffs begins Sunday, September 16th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Monday:

5:12 — That is back-to-back victories for Brad Keselowski. He is the winner of the Brickyard 500. Erik Jones and Denny Hamlin finish in 2nd and 3rd. Alex Bowman clinched the final playoff spot. 

5:02 — Caution out with 7 laps to go. There is a crash involving Landon Cassill and Jeffrey Earnhardt. 

4:47 — There are 17 laps to go and there is large debris on the track. 

4:35 — With 31 laps to go, Kurt Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Brad Keselowski make up the top 3. Blaney overshot his pit box by a full stall, which could be costly. 

4:20 — Kyle Busch was hit with a penalty for a commitment line violation at the end of Stage 2.

4:16 — The final stage has begun. The leaders are Bowyer, Hamlin and Larson. 

4:06 — End of Stage 2 and Matt Kenseth is the winner. Chase Elliot and Erik Jones round out the top 3. 

4:02 — Penalty issued to Almirola for speeding on the pit road. — Last lap of Stage 2. 

3:45 — There is a caution out for JJ Yeley who is spinning and William Byron was given a penalty for an uncontrolled tire. Lap 81 and Kevin Harvick is leading.

3:35 — Lap 67 and there is another crash, this time involving Allemndinger and Bowman. 

3:13 — Stage 2 is underway. On lap 58 there was a wreck involving Bubba Wallace, David Starr and BJ McLeod. 

3:00 — Clint Bowyer is the Stage 1 winner. Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin finish in 2nd and 3rd place. 

2:50 —  Lap 42 and Truex's car is smoking and has significant hood damage. 

2:46 — Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney had a minor pit-road collision. 

2:40 — There is another penalty. Matt DiBenedetto had an uncontrolled tire.  

2:36 — There is a competition caution. It is Lap 31 and Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Kyle Busch are the leaders. 

2:26 — There have been 2 penalties so far. There was a penality during Lap 12 on Harvick and a penalty during Lap 14 to Stenhouse Jr., both for uncontrolled tires. 

2:19 — Lap 14 and Denny Hamlin has jumped into 1st place. 

2:13 — After 10 laps, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski are your top 3.

2:04  — After being postponed on Sunday, the Brickyard 400 is underway. 

Sunday:

2:17 — Race officially posponed until tomorrow. 

2:08 — While we wait on confirmation about today, here's how things could look tomorrow:

1:58 —  Sounds like the race isn't happening today, but no official word yet.

1:37 — Folks, it's still wet and gross in Indianapolis, and there still isn't an update on whether they will get this race in today. We're already 20 minutes past the intended start time.

1:21 — Everyone in Indianapolis is just trying to stay entertained!

1:03 — From NASCAR: "A Toyota Tundra track-drying team of 19 vehicles is on hand to dry the track as quickly as possible, along with 10 jet dryers and four vacuums." 

12:59 —  It's crucial to have a dry period in order to get this thing started.

12:55 —  Uh-oh....

12:42 — There's officially a delay with the wet conditions not letting up.

12:09 — Mist appears to be increasing right now.
