Few tracks in the NASCAR circuit are as treacherous as Darlington.
It's more scorned lover than race surface, replete with obstacles that can turn glistening chariots into rubble.
Sunday's race — the Goodyear 400 — was further proof of that phenomenon. Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson looked to have two of the best cars in the grid at their best. Yet, neither was able to claim a finish after wrecking out.
When the dust settled, it was a familiar name who strutted into victory lane. It wasn't a cakewalk, however. It rarely is at "The Lady in Black."
Here's what you need to know about the results of Sunday's race at Darlington, the Goodyear 400.
Who won the NASCAR race today?
Keselowski captured the checkered flag at the Goodyear 400, outpacing Ty Gibbs, Josh Berry, and Denny Hamlin to pick up his first win of the season.
Keselowski impressed as the race wore on, buzzing around Reddick and Buescher as they jostled for track position with one another. With 12 laps left, he sparkled. Keselowski took advantage of his driver's battle with Reddick, veering wide to supplant both of them at the top of the grid after they suffered tire failure. He wouldn't relinquish control.
Keselowski's humble steed was able to hold off a last-gasp effort from Gibbs, securing his 37th career win with aplomb. In the process, his lengthy 110-race winless streak evaporated. And to top it all off, he cemented his status as a Cup Series contender, going from bridesmaid to bride after countless second-place finishes.
