NASCAR is making its return to NBC this weekend after an almost decade-long hiatus. After NBC acquired Sunday Night Football from ESPN, it decided it would not renew its contract with NASCAR following the 2006 season because of frequent scheduling conflicts on Sunday nights.
But in 2013, NBC and NASCAR announced a nine-year agreement that would give the network the broadcasting rights to the last 20 Sprint Cup races of each season, starting with the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona.
