Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 has been postponed until Monday. Sporting News will provide live updates and highlights of the Monster Energy Cup Series' 15th race beginning Monday at 5 p.m. E.T..
Racing fans may finally get a new winner this season as the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for the 15th race of the season .
After winning last week's Pocono 400 , Kyle Busch is not one of the favorites to record his fifth win of the year at the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday. Busch, the current Cup Series points leader, will start seventh, but he doesn't have a history of success at Michigan compared to other tracks. Of the tracks the NASCAR ciruit has been to this season, Busch has only led fewer laps at Talladega and Las Vegas than he has at Michigan International Speedway.

While Kevin Harvick sits fifth in the standings, he has yet to record a win this year — the longest drought of his five-year stint with Stewart-Haas Racing — something he could very well change on Sunday. Harvick is the most recent Cup Series winner at Michigan after winning the Consumers Energy 400 there last August, and he will be starting third. Harvick has finished fourth five times this year.
Kyle Larson will look to return to form after a pair of disapointing finishes at Charlotte and Pocono. The No. 42 driver won three consecutive races at Michigan from 2016-17, a feat only matched twice in NASCAR history by Bill Elliott and David Pearson.
Michigan International Speedway's length (two miles long) combined with 18 degree banking in the corners makes it one of the fastest tracks on the circuit and should lead to plenty of green flag racing as drivers continue to experiment with the new rules package.
Due to its proximity to Detroit, car manufacturers take a lot of pride in winning here. Chevrolet used to reign supreme, recording six victories in eight tries from June 2014 through August 2017, until Ford came on strong last year, sweeping both races with Harvick and Clint Bowyer. Fords grabbed eight of the top 10 positions at qualifying for the FireKeepers Casino 400.
Mist and a slight drizzle are in the Brooklyn, Mich., area at the star of the race, with heavy rain expected to pick up around 5 p.m. E.T.. Air driers were on the track at the scheduled start of the race. Michigan International Speedway does not have lights.
