Indy 500 2016: Time, TV channel, online stream image

The 2016 Indy 500 is Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a Memorial Day Weekend tradition. The green flag will drop at 12:19 p.m. ET, but TV coverage will begin more than hour before on ABC. It's time to start your engine, folks. IndyCar's premiere event is finally here.

Juan Pablo Montoya won last year's Indy 500, but the best story heading into 2016 has to be James Hinchcliffe winning the pole and starting first. Just over a year ago, he was in a lift-threatening wreck that he doesn't remember just before the Indy 500.

This year's Indy 500 will feature 33 drivers, including Montoya. Simon Pagenaud, Scott Dixon and Montoya are currently the top 3 drivers in the IndyCar standings.

Here is all the information you need to watch the Indy 500.

What time does the Indy 500 start?

The 2016 Indy 500 will begin shortly after noon on Sunday, May 29, with engines starting at 12:14 p.m. ET and the green flag dropping at 12:19 p.m. ET. The race — which is 200 laps at 2.5 miles each around the oval — usually takes about three hours.
