It's almost here.
After months of offseason work, and days of practicing and qualifying laps and then qualifying races at Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR's biggest race is fast approaching and the starting lineup is set.

Entering Thursday's Duel qualifying races, only rookie Chase Elliott and veteran Matt Kenseth were assured of their set starting spots. Kenseth will officially start second, but will have to drop to the rear of the field at the start after going to a backup car following a wreck Thursday night.
NOTE: Four drivers will be forced to use backup cars for Sunday's race and thus must start from the rear of the 40-car field. In addition to Kenseth, two-time Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson, Martin Truex Jr. and AJ Allmendinger will fall to the back for the green flag.
