The 2023 Cup Series season is upon us with the running to this year's Daytona 500, a race that promises to hold the nation's interest.

LIVE: Follow SN's Daytona 500 updates and full results

It's NASCAR's signature race, a 2.5-mile, 500-lap slog that tests drivers' speed and endurance. Some of the greatest moments in stock car history have happened at Daytona, from Richard Petty and David Pearson's wreck in '76 to Kevin Harvick's razor-thin win over Mark Martin in 2007.

Suffice to say, Sunday's race is a big deal. Austin Cindric claimed last year's iteration, thrusting himself into an exclusive bit of company. Cindric became the eighth driver in 10 years to hoist the storied hardware. That sounds about as good as an endorsement for the chaotic nature of "The Great American Race" as anything else you could get.
