One of the world's most prestigious races returns this weekend as the Indianapolis 500 is back for the 108th running. This year's race takes place on May 26 with drivers looking to etch their name in the history books with racing icons like Mario Andretti, Al Unser, Helio Castroneves and many more.

Hundreds of thousands of live spectators gather all week long at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as well as millions of television viewers and radio listeners. There aren't many things more American than the Indianapolis 500, which has been scheduled for the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend since 1974. Billed as "the greatest spectacle in racing," the Indy 500 comprises one leg of the Triple Crown of Motorsport — alongside the Monaco Grand Prix and 24 Hour of Le Mans.

Watching the Indianapolis 500 on TV is fun, but there's nothing like experiencing it in person. An American sporting staple steeped in tradition, including pre-race ceremonies, post-race celebrations, and race procedure. From the 33-car field lining up three-wide for the start to the victory-lane bottle of milk, there's nothing like the Indy 500.
