Serena Williams, 32-1 this year and winner of the 2015's first two tennis major tournaments, will be the No. 1 seed on the women’s side of Wimbledon this year, the All England Club confirmed Wednesday ahead of Friday's official draw.
Defending champion and men's world No. 1 Novak Djokovic is the top seed on the men's side.

Defending Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, the only woman to beat Williams this year, is seeded second.
Because of that 1-2 seeding, Williams and Kvitova won't meet until the final. Maria Sharapova, down to the No. 4 seed after losing her French Open crown this year, could be lying in wait for either in a semifinal, Britain's Daily Mail noted.
Notably out of the top 10 seeds on the women's side: No. 12 Eugenie Bouchard of Canada, who lost to Kvitova in last year’s final but has had a rocky start this season.
Players are seeded according to world rankings. The official draw setting first-round matches will take place at 5 a.m. ET Friday.
Seeds are given the tournament's top 32 players. On Wimbledon's list are Canada's Milos Raonic, No. 7; and John Isner of the United States, No. 17. Women's seeds include Caroline Wozniacki, No. 5; Venus Williams, No. 16, and American Madison Keys, No. 21.
Djokovic, seven-time champion; No. 2 seed Roger Federer and 2013 winner and No. 3 seed Andy Murray start as favorites, but unseeded Czech Lukas Rosol says they are beatable in the early matches."Novak is favorite maybe," Rosol told Perform ahead of the tournament. "He has a big chance to go through and, of course, Roger is a champion there.
"It's going to be a couple of good games, you know, but all of these players, you can hurt them in the first two rounds I have to say.
"They're not ready with the surface yet and the further they go in the tournament, it's more difficult to play against them."
Djokovic has yet to play on grass this year, while Federer and Murray had success in tune-up tournaments.
Federer won his eighth title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany. Murray won at the Aegon Championships in London for a fourth time.
Two-time champion Rafael Nadal is 10th, his lowest seeding ever for Wimbledon.
