No, Bill Belichick wasn't keeping tabs on the U.S. Open.

A remote-controlled drone crashed into the stands at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Thursday night, forcing a delay in a second-round women's singles match between Flavia Pennetta and Monica Niculescu.

The U.S. Tennis Association said that a drone flying from the east crashed into the southwest corner of the stadium at about 8:27 p.m. ET. The drone appeared to be about the size of a pizza box, the type that's widely available for purchase.

No spectators were in the immediate area of the crash and there were no injuries. The NYPD is investigating the incident.

Pennetta won the match 6-1, 6-4.
