UFC 194 Results: Luke Rockhold pounds Chris Weidman's face to a bloody pulp, wins UFC middleweight championship image

UFC 194 takes place on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., and is available on PPV.

In the co-main event, Chris Weidman (13-0) defended his UFC middleweight championship against top contender Luke Rockhold (14-2).

Rockhold won the fight with a fourth-round TKO to become the new UFC middleweight champion.

With the fight tied after two rounds, Weidman attempted a spinning wheel kick midway through the third. This proved to be costly, as Rockhold ducked the kick and took Weidman down. He quickly moved to a full mount and bloodied Weidman's face for the last 30 seconds of the round with a vicious ground and pound assault. Weidman was clearly hurt, as Rockhold easily took him down to start the fourth round and finish the fight.

Round 1: The two fighters exchanged shots before Weidman jumped onto Rockhold's back. He locked in a standing body triangle but Rockhold was able to escape a minute later. Weidman pressed Rockhold up against the cage and dumped him with a takedown. Rockhold made his way back to his feet and landed a couple of knees to Weidman's midsection. Rockhold attacked Weidman's head and attempted a guillotine clutch. Weidman adjusted his hips to avoid pressure. The referee had both fighters return to the center. Weidman shot in for a takedown but Rockhold countered and got on top of Rockhold to end the round. 

Round 2: Weidman shot for a takedown, Rockhold countered with a big right punch. Rockhold connected with a series of leg kicks. Weidman went for a double underhook but Rockhold kicked him away. Rockhold landed a big right forearm. Weidman tried to press forward but was met with a series of punches. Weidman landed a kick to Rockhold's side that caused him to retreat. 

Round 3: Weidman went for another takedown up against the cage but Rockhold pushed off. Weidman landed a series of strikes then took Rockhold to the ground. Rockhold was seated up agains thte cage and pushed off of Weidman to get to his feet. Weidman went for a spinning back kick but Rockhold ducked and took Weidman to the ground. Rockhold failed to lock in a choke but was able to get a full mount with one minute left. Rockhold bloodied up Weidman with a big ground and pound assault. Weidman kept his face blocked and referee Herb Dean refused to stop the fight.

Round 4: Rockhold took down Weidman again and move to a full mount with Weidman up against the cage. Weidman attempted to counter wil a guillotine but Rockhold slipped out. Rockhold began a ground and pound assault again and Dean called for the bell.
