Conor McGregor did what he said what he was going to do. But even he could not have predicted knocking out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to win the UFC featherweight title. McGregor landed a right cross and Aldo was loading up with one of his own, and floored the longtime champ. He followed up with hammer fists, prompting Jon McCarthy to stop the fight, making it the fastest title fight in UFC history.

In the co-main event, Luke Rockhold capitalized on a reckless wheel kick from Chris Weidman, and proceeded to turn the champ's face into a bloody mess. Rockhold finished the job in the fourth round with more brutal ground and pound, handing Weidman his first career loss.

UFC 195 gets started at 6:15 p.m. ET with preliminary fights on UFC.com Fight Pass, before moving to Fox Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET. The UFC 193 PPV begins at 10 p.m. ET and the main event between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo is expected to begin around 12:45 a.m. ET.

UFC 194 Aldo vs. McGregor live updates

Connor McGregor defeated Jose Aldo via KO at 13 seconds of round one.

1: 10 a.m. — Did Aldo get caught? It's hard to say, but he got knocked out. Was it a fluke? It's hard to say, but McGregor landed a clean shot and Aldo got knocked out. The fan in me wanted to see McGregor get dismantled. I wanted to see the Jazz beat the Bulls. I loved it when the Yankees lost. I wanted to see the overly cocky trash talker get his comeuppance. He refused to oblige. But that's sports, and that's what make them so dang compelling.

1:03 a.m. — Conor McGregor talks the talk, and in just 13 seconds, proved he can back it up. It's a less than ideal result for fight fans hoping for a war, but, well, HO-LEE CRAP. If you couldn't stand him now, you're out of luck. It's going to get a lot louder.

12:55 a.m. — OH MY GOD. CONOR MCGREGOR KNOCKS OUT JOSE ALDO WITH ONE PUNCH. NEW CHAMP.

12:54 a.m. — Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor touch gloves, and it's happening. It's really happening.

12:52 a.m. — The fans are clearly in favor of Conor McGregor, which is, ya know, not surprising at all.

12:48 a.m. — I have an issue with the UFC allowing Conor McGregor to wear green trunks when EVRYONE ELSE has to wear black and white trunks, but alas, I'll save it for another day.

12:44 a.m. - The hype is real folks. I cannot begin to explain how long I've been looking forward to this. This is the biggest UFC fight in a long time.

12:40 a.m. — OK, folks, here we go. It's main event time. Are you ready for Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor?

Luke Rockhold defeated Chris Weidman via TKO at 3:12 of round four.

12:31 a.m — There it is. Dean finally stops it. New champ. What a performance from Rockhold. He stymied Weidman's wrestling and neutralized his striking with great use of leg kicks.

12:29 a.m. — More of the same in the fourth. Wow, Rockhold is all over Weidman.

12:25 a.m. - Holy hell. Luke Rockhold just spent the final 45 seconds in full mount, pummeling on Chris Weidman's skull. Weidman was winning the round until he threw a foolish spinning heel kick. On to round four. I got it 29-28 Rockhold, but I could totally see that being a 10-8 round.

12:22 a.m. - This is slowly becoming a battle of attrition. Weidman has gained some energy, Rockhold has lost some. Weidman looks like he realizes he only has two real forms of attack, and he's tired. Rockhold is also tired, but has a much deeper arsenal. They are both throwing kicks. Lots of kicks.

12:16 a.m. — Weidman already looks tired and Rockhold is smiling, throwing heavy strikes with his legs. Weidman is getting outstruck and unable to land his takedowns. Weidman looks like he knows he doesn't have many options.

12:10 a.m. — Chris Weidman is setting the pace. If Rockhold wants to win, he will need to either change the pace or somehow out-grind Weidman, which is not an easy task. Weidman controlled the first four minutes, and Rockhold the last two. I have it 10-9 Weidman, but I could see 10-9 Rockhold because of the way he finished the round.

12:02 a.m. — Luke Rockhold enters to DMX. Chris Weidman enters to Tom Petty. Rockhold via walkout KO.

11:51 p.m. - OK, folks. It's title time. First up is Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold for the middleweight strap. Weidman has never lost. I like Weidman here, but my colleagues don't agree, which is weird. We also disagree on Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor, which is also weird.

Yoel Romero defeated Ronaldo Souza via split decision (29-27, 28-29, 29-28)

11:46 p.m. — OMG, Chuck Liddell, stop it, you're embarassing us.

11:44 p.m. — And like giant pitbulls, Romero does not have a large gas tank. The third round is all Jacare. Romero has zero energy left, which makes all those taught muscle worth absolutely nothing. Yoel dominated the first, the second was close and Jacare dominated the third.

11:38 p.m. — Yoel Romero grabbed the fence, then grabbed the fence again and was able to prevent a takedown. Here's what Tim Kennedy, who was the victim of Romero's shenanigans in between rounds at UFC 178 in Sept. 2014, has to say:

11:33 p.m. — Huge first round for Romero. Jacare is having trouble finding his corner, which is never a good thing. You know that viral video of the gigantic pitbull named Hulk that lives with the nice family of four? That's Romero.

11:29 p.m. — Oh. By the way, this happened.

11:25 p.m. — Time for Jacare vs. Romero. Perhaps the best-ever "Wrestler vs. Grappler" matchup in UFC history.

11:19 p.m. — If I had to guess, I'd reckon we're 60 minutes away from Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo, which by the way, is going to be hella fun. (Hella meaning OMG THIS IS AWESOME)

Demian Maia defeated Gunnar Nelson via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-25, 30-25).

11:09 p.m. — The difference in ability on the ground between the two fighters was astonishing. Nelson is good. Maia is galactic.

10:57 p.m. — Maia dominated the first round with suffocating grappling. Nelson was in trouble several times. Maia landed good shots and had him in a bunch of bad positions. Nelson is too loose on his feet and isn't keep Maia at bay, which is allowing Maia to shoot in for takedowns. Conor McGregor is probably cursing up a storm in the locker room. More of the same in the second. Nelson needs to turn the tables in a major way in the third.

10:51 p.m. — Time for Conor McGregor's teammate and friend Gunnar Nelson to take on former middleweight title contender Demian Maia. This one will be heavy on grappling.

10:41 p.m. - Cameras just cut to Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Aldo looks like he's trying to find the man that kidnapped his family. McGregor looks like he just purchased a small island nation.

Max Holloway defeated Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

10:32 p.m. — Holloway struggled against Conor McGregor because McGregor was relentless in attack. Stephens has been the exact opposite; biding his time, waiting for counter-punches. And for his efforts, he's in a bad position in the third round and down on the scorecards. The fight ends with a nice standing barrage between the two, a dangerous predicament for anyone facing Stephens.

10:28 p.m. - The first two rounds have been a lot less entertaining than I would have expected. Both men are picking their spots. If you are here for Conor McGregor, you may want to go grab a drink.

10:21 p.m. - Ahh. I almost forgot to mention: The Reebok fight gear still sucks. All of it.

10:18 p.m. - This was one of only two fights that the SN MMA team was in agreement on. We like Holloway.

10:13 p.m. - Max Holloway vs. Jeremy Stephens is up first. Holloway has 13 UFC fights under his belt despite being just 24 years old. He's won seven consecutive fights, with his last loss coming at the hands of Conor McGregor in 2013. Jeremy Stephens has dynamite in his hands (NOTE: Not actual dynamite). This one is going to be fun.

10:01 p.m. - Dana White just said Conor McGregor told him he was going to finish Aldo in under four minutes. White also said that all the fighters looked great at the weigh-in. I beg to differ. Conor McGregor looked gaunt and exhausted. On UFC:Embedded, the video cut away from him after he stepped on the scale upon arriving in Vegas. He was the only one the camera cut away from. All the other fighters were happy. McGregor got no response.

Fox Sports 1 Prelims:

9:58 p.m. — It's PPV time.

9:55 p.m. — Faber defeats Saenz by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27). This puts Faber in a good spot to get yet another title shot, against the winner of TJ Dillashaw vs. Dominick Cruz. Although there is part of me that wants to see him fight Conor McGregor. Faber is 1-1 against Cruz, but the big payday is against Dillashaw, his former protege.

9:49 p.m. — The second round was even more bonkers. Faber clipped Saenz and followed up with a barrage of strikes. He tried to finish Saenz with everything, but somehow wasn't able to. Saenz pulled off an incredible reversal on the ground, and Faber finished the round gasping for air. I'm tired just typing this. Incredible round. Incredible fight.

9:41 p.m. - The first round of the Urijah Faber vs. Frankie Saenz fight is over, and holy moly was that fun. Saenz is a blue-chip prospect with Olympic-caliber wrestling. Faber is, well, Faber, the former face of the WEC and arguably one of the greatest fighters never to win UFC gold.

9:35 p.m. - Add AJ McCarron to team Conor McGregor.

9:33 p.m. — Part of what makes Conor McGregor so fascinating is how he dresses and how he spends his money. He's a modern-day Ric Flair. It's not sustainable, but well, if you got it, flaunt it.

9:30 p.m. - More down time, which means UFC: Embedded highlights. Luke Thomas brings up a great point about Conor McGregor. He brags about having lots of money, but for as smart as he is, he does a pretty awful job at long term money management. He's essentially Ric Flair. The issue with that? The actual Ric Flair went backrupt twelve times over.

9:17 p.m. — The third round of Torres vs. Jones-Lybarger was five minutes of nothing but winging punches. There was blood. It was a lot of fun. Torres takes the unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

8:57 p.m. - Thanks to the two quick finishes, we got a solid 20-minute break. Tecia Torres vs. Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger up next. The way things are going tonight, Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo may not go the distance, but you probably already knew that.

8:37 p.m - Another quick fight. Warley Alves remains unbeaten, submitting Colby Covington with a vicious first-round guillotine choke. Brazil is up 2-0 on the night. Ireland only has one Conor McGregor, and most of his fans are still at the bar.

8:32 p.m.Here are our predictions for the main card tonight. Somehow, the SN MMA crew couldn't come to an agreement on Aldo vs. McGregor or Weidman vs. Rockhold, which sorta confuses me. But maybe that's just me.

8:15 p.m. - Leanardo Santos just pulled off the biggest upset of the young night. The BJJ wizard TKO'd Kevin Lee, who was the largest betting favorite of the night at -800. So much for the hype train and the BJJ.

8:09 p.m. - UFC 194 is truly a marquee event. I'LL TAKE A PBR!

8:01 p.m. — We're about four hours away from Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor entering the cage. But there are a bunch of spectacular fights between now and then. Faber/Saenz is going to be a dandy, and I'm excited to see if Kevin Lee can run the hype train through the outlandishly good BJJ of Leanardo Santos,

FightPass Prelims:

7:57 p.m. — Our first celebrity prediction of the night comes from ... Gordon Ramsay? Isn't he the kitchen satan guy with the perpetual scowl? He is? Man, this must be a big PPV.

7:42 p.m. — Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo are scary men, but so is Mogomed Mustafaev. He dismantled Joe Proctor in the first round of their lightweight fight. Look that those knees!

7:30 p.m. - I may pump this link out several times tonight, but it's because I really love reading it and I think you will too. A fellow SN writer who knows nothing about Conor McGregor spent the last ten days trying to figure out what the hell is up with this crazy man. The results are pretty awesome.

7:27 p.m. — Yancy Medieros defeated John Makdessi via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29). Better than the first fight. Onwards and upwards.

7:11 p.m. - This is real news. A group of drunk Conor McGregor fans got into a fight on an airplane headed to Vegas and the plane had to turn around for an emergency landing. Seriously.

7:05 p.m. - Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo have finally made it to this moment. Well, not RIGHT NOW, but you know what I mean. It's been over 14 months in the making. Conor McGregor was sure Jose Aldo wouldn't be able to make weight. Aldo did just that. And by all accounts, it was McGregor who had the difficult weight cut.

7 p.m. — Welcome to the UFC 194 Aldo vs. McGregor, I am your esteemed host Troy Machir. We are already one fight into the prelims. Former TUF winner Court McGee defeated Marcio Alexandre by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28). It was a boring fight. Trust me. You didn't miss anything.
