Riders faced another tough day in the mountains on Stage 11. The Col du Tourmalet, the highest paved mountain pass in the French Pyrénées, challenged riders in the second-to-last climb of the day.

Who won Stage 11 of the 2015 Tour de France?

Rafal Majka took a slight lead in the final kilometers of the Col du Tourmalet sailed down the descent, opening up a significant gap heading into the last climb of the day. He maintained his lead during the last 5-kilometer climb and won the stage by one minute.

Chris Froome holds the yellow jersey after Stage 11 as his ride through the mountains with the peloton was safe and controlled. None of his main competitors tried to attack, so he kept a steady pace up the Pyrénées, riding alongside van Garderen, Quintana, Contador and Valverde.

VIncenzo Nibali and Richie Porte fell off the back during the final climb of the day and lost more time.

What is the route for Stage 12?

More mountains! Thursday's Stage 12 features four climbs including a 15.8-kilometer category H summit finish atop the Plateau de Beille. Riders will continue through the French Pyrénées, covering 195 kilometers in Stage 12. There is one intermediate sprint 20 kilometers into the stage before riders hit the mountains.
