Ronda Rousey's big fight against Holly Holm is Saturday, so stories from her past are being brought up as she answers hundreds of questions from the media. One of those stories is something she wrote about in her book, “My Fight/Your Fight.”
Rousey describes an incident in which she beat up an ex-boyfriend (unnamed in the book) after she caught him taking nude photos of her without her knowledge. She writes she "pulled him by the neck of the hoodie again, dragged him onto the sidewalk and left him writhing there as I sped away.”

She received some negative feedback from people who claim her actions could be seen as domestic violence. During a session with the media in Australia, she said her actions were in self-defense. She added that her situation could have been considered a kidnapping as the man, only referred to as "Snappers McCreepy," blocked her from trying to escape.
"So if someone is blocking you into an apartment and won't let you leave, you're entitled to defend yourself and find a way out," she said, via ESPN. "If you're trying to get into your car and leave and they're grabbing your steering wheel and saying you can't leave, technically you're being kidnapped, and you can defend yourself in any way that is necessary."
Eric Adelson of Yahoo Sports wrote, "If an NFL player acted this way after finding nude pictures, or if a male fighter reacted this way against Rousey, there would be a warranted national outcry." He claims there's a double standard because Rousey is a woman and even compared her actions to those of boxer Floyd Mayweather who has a history of assaulting women.
Again, Rousey said she can't help it if people don't fully understand the situation.
"I don't have to make every single one of my actions idiot proof," she said. "If an idiot can't understand it, it's not my problem."
