MLB 15: The Show will let you play Orioles-White Sox with no crowd image

It was an unprecedented, bizarre and somewhat eerie game between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

With urest in the city's streets, MLB closed the game to the public and played it without a crowd making it the first game in history with a paid attendance of zero.

The developers at SCEA took note of the unique nature of the game and represented it within MLB 15: The Show's day-to-day mode called The Show Live. In that mode, every game for every day of the season is listed and once they are played, they feature the accurate lineups and starting pitchers. They also include some context based on that date in the season.

If it's an Opening Day game, the field art will be there and the commentators will make note of it. If it's Jackie Robinson Day or games played on a holiday, they will feature their own specific touches.

There's never been anything quite like a game with empty stands but even that now is found in The Show Live. Select the Orioles-White Sox game (8-2 win for Baltimore) from April 29 and not only will there be no crowd but the crowd sounds have been completely turned off.

It's not perfect — there are some fans in standing room areas and there was obviously no audio for the announcers to note the significance of the game — but having all the seats empty makes for a unique experience.
