A demo for the upcoming NBA Live 16 is now available to download on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It provides an opportunity to try out the big new feature addition to the EA Sports series for this year, Live Pro-Am, which includes two different online modes.

In one, called Live Run, up to 10 different people can connect into a single game in which each one controls a different player. The other is Summer Circuit, which is played co-op (up to five people) and involves going through a series of challenges against CPU controlled teams of NBA players.

There's more than just that to the demo, however. Also featured are six teams (Bulls, Cavs, Clippers, Thunder, Warriors, Wizards) to use for standard games, tutorial drills and scrimmage modes, and the ability to create the character for Pro-Am which can be carried over into the full game if purchased later.

The character creation is where the NBA Live Companion mobile app comes in. The new app has gone out for Android (download here) and iOS (download here) and delivers the ability to scan your own face into the game for the player that will used in offline Career Mode and the online modes that make up Live Pro-Am. Unfortunately the app is incompatible with a lot of devices, and of those able to get the app many have still yet to be successful in completing the scan.

NBA Live 16 is set to release on September 29, but will be available to subscribers of EA Access on Xbox One for a 10-hour trial beginning on the 24th.
