Zach Johnson has won the British Open.
Johnson held off Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman in a four-hole playoff, beating Oosthuizen by one stroke at -2. Jordan Spieth, who was attempting to win the third leg of the Grand Slam, was one shot shy of making the playoff.

2:57 p.m. Zach Johnson is your 2015 British Open champion! Louis Oosthuizen misses his birdie putt for the tie and Johnson will celebrate.
2:55 p.m. Johnson makes par and he'll watch Oosthuizen putt for birdie and the tie.
2:53 p.m. That's it for Marc Leishman, who makes par on the fourth playoff hole (18) and finishes two over par on the playoff.
2:44 p.m. With one hole to play, Johnson leads Oosthuizen by one stroke (-1) in the four-hole playoff. Leishman is three strokes back.
2:42 p.m. Oosthuizen misses a heartbreaker. A little too much curve on his par putt strips him of a golden opportunity to tie for the lead. Meanwhile, Johnson makes his bogey putt, keeping him in first.
2:40 p.m. It's been a tough playoff for Leishman. He misses his par putt and goes to +2 in the playoff.
2:38 p.m. Trouble for Johnson. He goes into the thick grass on the third playoff hole. Oosthuizen entered the hole one stroke behind him.
2:35 p.m. Fans all over the place are getting in on the action. Even if it means taking a break from the spa.

2:32 p.m. Johnson appears to be wearing mittens? We can dig it.
2:24 p.m. Oosthuizen misses his putt, settling for par but Johnson sinks for birdie. Johnson is a lone in the lead now at -2.
2:20 p.m. Leishman falls just shy of the hole on another putt, this time for birdie. He shakes his head in frustration. He needed that one.
2:09 p.m. Leishman is going to have some catching up to do. He missed a putt for par on the first hole, forcing him to settle for bogey. Oosthuizen and Johnson both made birdie.
1:47 p.m. We will have a three-way playoff! Oosthuizen makes the birdie putt on 18, tying Johnson and Leishman at -15.
1:42 p.m. Jason Day missed the birdie putt on 18 and will settle for par. He made par, but his day is over, one shy of the leaders. Now all eyes turn to Oosthuizen.
1:40 p.m.: The Grand Slam dream is over for Jordan Spieth, who missed a lengthy birdie putt at 18 that would have tied him for the lead. After winning The Masters and the U.S. Open, he'll finish at least one shot back at the 2015 British Open. What a year for the kid who turns 22 one week from today.
1:37 p.m.: Spieth needed a perfect wedge on 18 and he didn't get it, spinning the ball back off the green to leave a must-make, off-the-green putt for birdie. He pulled away from the ball midswing on his first attempt after some noise in the crowd. Day will have a 20-footer for birdie to join Leishman and Johnson at -15.
1:27 p.m.: Spieth's putt slides by right, and the bogey drops him to -14 for the tournament. He'll need a birdie at 18 to join a potential playoff party. Day, meanwhile, will stand with Spieth as one stroke back on the 18th tee. What a tournament.
1:24 p.m.: Spieth living dangerously at No. 17. He's forced to get up-and-down for par and has 10-foot putt to stay at -15.
1:20 p.m.: That's two in at -15 with Leishman joining Johnson.
1:18 p.m.: Leishman will have a putt for birdie at 18, but it's shaping up like a playoff will decide the 2015 British Open champion. Three-way tie of Johnson-Leishman-Speith at -15.
1:08 p.m.: And Spieth BOMBS one in at 16 to tie for the lead at -15. Check it out for yourself:
Two holes remaining for him, three for the final group. Reminder: Johnson is the low man in the clubhouse at -15. Leishman holding at -15 and he's on the course at No. 18 right now.
1:02 p.m.: Spieth, still one shot behind, is running out of holes in his Grand Slam bid. He'll have a long putt for birdie at No. 16 before closing with the difficult 17 and birdie-friendly 18.
12:57 p.m.: Remember Paul Dunne, the amateur from Ireland who started the day with a share of the lead? He's +4 on the round and seven shots back of the lead while playing in the final group. Dunne was the only golfer coming into Monday with three sub-60 rounds.
12:52 p.m.: Leishman has dropped a stroke and joins Johnson at -15. He's headed to the treacherous 17th with four players, including Spieth, sitting one stroke back at -14. All golfers now in the final five holes. Here we go!
12:40 p.m.: Johnson is your leader in the clubhouse at -15. He birdied 18 to get within one shot of Leishman, and his caddie is fired up.
12:36 p.m.: Spieth has quietly made par on holes 11-13, but he nearly holed out for birdie on 12. Golf is neither fair nor kind.
12:30 p.m.: Here's a name to learn: Jordan Niebrugge. The 21-year-old amateur and Oklahoma State student has five birdies to go with no bogeys today through 15 holes and is -14 on the tournament. He's two shots back and tied for third.
12:18 p.m.: Adam Scott, now -12, has fallen off the pace. This didn't help.
12:14 p.m.: Everyone on the inward nine now as the contenders begin to finish their rounds. The final pairing of Paul Dunne (-11) and Louis Oosthuizen (-14) have seven holes still to play. Leishman continues to lead at -16 with Johnson (-15), Jason Day (-14) and Spieth (-14) chasing.
11:54 a.m.: Say hello to your new leader: Leishman. The Australian birdied No. 12 to move to 16-under par. Three of the top six golfers at the moment are Aussies, apparently comfortable in the rainy, windy weather of Scotland.
11:49 a.m.: Look out for a potential stoppage in play as the heaviest rain yet begins to sweep the course.
11:45 a.m.: The breakneck scoring pace has slackened a bit as golfers take on the inward nine at St. Andrews, but the leaders — Johnson, Scott and Leishman — are holding steady at -15. Spieth has recovered from a bogey with back-to-back birdies to sit one shot back. No golfer in the Top 20 is above par today.
10:52 a.m.: Birdies are falling everywhere at The Old Course, setting a furious pace. Spieth has gone to 3-under on the round and finds himself just a stroke back of leader Zach Johnson. The top eight golfers are a combined -27 today with lots of golf still to be played, but the back nine tends to play tougher. And here comes the heavy rain.
10:45 a.m.: The rain is back, but hey, it's an island in the North Atlantic. Scott tied Johnson for the lead briefly, but the latter made a short birdie putt to move to -15. Padraig Harrington, meanwhile, tapped in for double-bogey and has fallen back to -11. Spieth is plodding along at -13, two-under for the day and well within striking distance.
10:29 a.m.: And just like that, an American is alone at the top. Johnson birdies No. 9 and moves to -14.
10:28 a.m.: The rain jackets are coming off and the scores are going down. Johnson, Scott, Leishman and Harrington have joined Louis Oosthuizen at -13 to create a five-way tie for the lead. Another five players, including England's Anthony Wall (-5 through 12 holes today) are within a stroke at -12.
10:08 a.m.: Could be a long day for Paul Dunne, who's already fallen out of the Top 10 after a bogey on each of the first two holes. Oosthuizen, meanwhile, has gained sole control of the lead after a birdie at No. 1. Seven golfers sit one stroke behind at -12.
9:37 a.m.: The leaders are on the course, and Spieth is wasting no time with a birdie at the first. He's now tied for the lead. The amateur, Dunne, has started from the final group with a pair of shaky swings. Admit it: You'd be nervous, too.
8:40 a.m.: Phil Mickelson surged 40 spots with six birdies to get within two shots back of the lead Monday morning, but then put a tee shot onto a hotel room balcony on the 17th Road Hole. He is tied for 33 at -7 in Round 4.
8:17 a.m.: Weather forecast: Cloudy with better chance of rain later in the leaders’ round with winds increasing to 10-20 mph and gusting as high as 25-30 mph.
7:56 a.m.: If Ollie Schniederjans' score is any indication, it's going to be another aggressive day on the leaderboard. The U.S. amateur is 6 under through 12 to surge into contention in early play Monday.
