Close friends of Adrien Broner contacted police to check on the boxer after he made what they perceived to be suicide threats on social media, TMZ reported. Several friends told the website they are worried about him.
While some of the concerning posts have been deleted, a few were still active as of Wednesday afternoon. One includes a picture of a gun inside of a vehicle, with Broner writing, “I'm going home I love y'all.”

TMZ had a screen grab of another Instagram post from Broner that reads, “I’m doing it I’m sorry to my family and friends but I don’t want to be here no more this s*** is too much."
He's discussed previously having seven kids with six women.
Broner, who is 27 and from Cincinnati, was undefeated through his first 28 fights and had a promising career ahead of him. He is a former WBA super lightweight champion, and some boxing observers thought he had the potential to be one of the greats. He won his two most recent bouts, but lost two of five before that, to Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter.
