Manchester will host two massive title fights when UFC 304 comes to town. Birmingham’s Leon Edwards defends the UFC welterweight title for a third time, facing long-time contender Belal Muhammad. Meanwhile, Salford's Tom Aspinall defends the interim UFC heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes. Both fights are rematches.

The main card features several local fighters, as do the prelims. Headlining the prelims will be Nathaniel Wood vs. Daniel Pineda. London’s Wood looks to rebound after having his three-fight win streak snapped in his last bout. The former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion faces Pineda, a former Fury FC lightweight champion. Pineda is 1-1 with one no-contest in three fights.

Both are not ranked at featherweight. However, an impressive win could result in a number next to their name following their fight. Wood getting a win streak back will help his standing and the ultimate goal of holding gold.

"The goal is always to be UFC champion,” Wood said last year to Metro. “The way I look at it now, I’ve probably got another three years in my prime. I know everyone’s different, but from what we usually see after 33 is when you start to maybe deteriorate a little bit, and I’ve been in this game since I was 16. I’ve got three years now to work my way up that ladder. I just need that ranking to start knocking my way through the top ten.”
