On July 2, two huge title fights will determine the future of the UFC’s middleweight and featherweight divisions. Inside Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, UFC 276 features a trilogy fight and a match between two dynamic fighters.
Israel Adesanya defends the UFC middleweight title against Jared Cannonier, while Alexander Volkanovski once again fights Max Holloway for the former's UFC featherweight title.
Adesanya made his MMA debut in 2012. Joining the UFC in '18, Adesanya is 11-1 with the promotion. He beat Kelvin Gastelum in '19 for the interim UFC middleweight title. That same year, he beat Robert Whittaker via KO to win the actual title.
Adesanya has defended the title four times, beating the likes of Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, and Whittaker. The Whittaker rematch took place in February.
Cannonier made his pro debut in 2011. An AFC heavyweight champion, Cannonier lost his UFC debut in '15. He is 8-5 with the promotion, competing in the heavyweight, light heavyweight, and middleweight divisions. At 5-1 over his past six fights, Cannonier is on a two-fight win streak. His last fight was a knockout win over Derek Brunson in February.

Volkanovski made his pro debut in 2012. After losing the fourth fight of his career, Volkanovski has gone on a 21-fight win streak. He's 11-0 in the UFC since joining the organization in 2016. In 2019 at UFC 245, Volkanovski beat Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title. He would beat Holloway in a controversial rematch at UFC 251 in 2020.
Since the Holloway series, Volkanovski has defended the title against Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung. Last April, he beat "The Korean Zombie" via TKO.
Holloway made his pro debut in 2010. Joining the UFC in '12, Holloway was 3-3 to start his career with the promotion. After that, he went 14-1, beating Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title in '16. Holloway defended the title three times before losing to Volkanovski.
After the Volkanovski fights, Holloway beat Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez in 2021. The Rodriguez fight was in November.
