It has been a rough 2016 for Tim Means. He was scheduled for his first-ever main event against Donald Cerrone in February. But he failed a drug test before the fight. It was revealed, though, that Means had taken a tainted supplement.
"The Dirty Bird" made up for it in a big way Saturday, defeating Sabah Homasi by TKO at 2:54 of the second round.

Homasi opened the fight with a body kick, but Means connected on a powerful straight left hand. Means tried to overpower Homasi, but the UFC newcomer scored a takedown. Means was able to get back to his feet. Homasi was being the aggressor, but started to tire halfway through the first round. He able to overcome the tiredness to get another takedown, but Means got up rather quickly.
Means landed a sharp elbow, which bloodied Homasi's face. Means came back with another short elbow from the clinch. Means tried to finish the fight as the round came to a close, connecting on knees and elbows, but Homasi survived.
Homasi came out trying to set the pace, but was too exhausted for the shots to have any effect. Sensing that, Means kept going at Homasi, connecting on knees and short elbows. Means kept backing Homasi against the cage, throwing either a right or left hand, knees and then short elbows, but Homasi kept on trucking through.
The end of the fight occured when Means landed a left hand, a right hand and an elbow. Referee Herb Dean had seen enough and put a halt to the fight.
