The Professional Fighters League is ready to begin its 2024 regular season with heavyweights and flyweights in action on April 4. Who will make an immediate impact before the playoffs start?
The Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio hosts PFL 1. It airs on ESPN+ in the U.S., and DAZN in the U.K. PFL founder Donn Davis believes 2024 will be a historic year for the organization, one that, thanks to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will help dramatically increase its status.
"We're very fortunate to have them (PIF) as partners to try to take PFL - we call it the secured No. 2 position [in MMA promotion, behind the UFC] - to be a co-leader over the next five years. We’ve a very clear plan," Davis said via The National. "We're about 40 to 50% of UFC's audience today, in terms of global viewership, and the MMA market is growing very fast.
"Our view is, why can't there be two leading MMA companies on a global basis? And this is a very young sport: 25 years old… So the next five years, at the latest the next ten years, you'll see explosive growth and change led by PFL and MMA. So UFC: the current winner and the first winner. But you'll see PFL be the next and second winner."

The main event features Valentin Moldavsky vs. Ante Delija. A three-time Sambo gold medalist, Moldavsky turned pro in 2015. The Russian is a former interim Bellator heavyweight champion and is 1-1 in his last two fights. Delija turned pro in 2011. He joined the PFL in 2019 and won the 2022 PFL heavyweight tournament.
Bellator flyweight champion Liz Carmouche faces Juliana Velasquez in a non-title trilogy, and the rest of the card features PFL Europe champion Dakota Ditcheva, Bellator stars Linton Vassell, and more.
