It took a lot of twists and turns, but at the end of the day, the MMA world gets the rematch it's been waiting for.
During Saturday's UFC 199 broadcast, it was revealed that Conor McGregor will rematch Nate Diaz at UFC 202 at welterweight Aug. 20.

Diaz won in a shocking upset at UFC 196 when he knocked out the featherweight champion in the second round. The rematch was initially booked for UFC 200 on July 9.
McGregor threw a curveball and announced his retirement in April after his dissatisfaction with having to break his training camp in Iceland and fly to Las Vegas to do promotional work for the event and was only willing to do a news conference in New York. The UFC wasn't going to let him do that and pulled McGregor from the show.
McGregor and UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta met a couple of weeks ago in Los Angeles and appeared to iron things out. Seeing the UFC went to McGregor, Diaz wanted Fertitta and White to come to him. And they did, but White stormed out of their meeting and things appeared to be rocky until Saturday evening.
