Aline Pereira, UFC champion Alex Pereira's sister, fights tomorrow at Karate Combat 50 which streams on UFC Fight Pass.
The younger Pereira sibling (she's 34) is also a former kickboxer, having competed in GLORY Kickboxing and even challenged for their super bantamweight title against Tiffany van Soest, one of the great female fighters of GLORY Kickboxing history.
That was her final kickboxing bout, back in 2021, and since then Aline made a push to move over to MMA, though she only went 1-2 in her first three bouts, competing as a flyweight in LFA.
Now, Aline seeks a different challenge, as she will compete in Karate Combat. Karate Combat is a promotion which sort of combines kickboxing, karate, and MMA – and throws it all into a new age YAMMA fighting pit, which forces new tactics to emerge.
Her opponent, Irishwoman Dee Begley, is only 4-6 in her MMA career and 0-1 as a boxer. Perhaps Karate Combat will be more her speed, as well.
However, like her brother, Pereira is massive. Despite fighting at 121 & 125lbs, Aline stands a whopping 5'9", which will give her half a foot of height on her opponent come Friday.
Aline Pereira may not have the extraordinary skills of her brother, but she is a talented kickboxer, nonetheless. Transitioning to MMA is hard at any age, but if she can string some wins together in any combat sport then her proximity to one of the most famous fighters in the world will propel her career forward as well.
