The Vancouver Whitecaps have not had the best of starts to their 2017 MLS campaign, but they put together one of the best team goals of the season Saturday evening against Sporting KC.
In the 40th minute in front of their home fans, fullback Sheanon Williams took a long ball down the right flank and hit a good cross into the area. Christian Bolanos chested it into the path of Cristian Techera, who hit it on the volley past SKC keeper Tim Melia to give the hosts the 1-0 advantage.

Once Williams hit the cross, the ball never touched the ground until it was in the back of the net.
It was Techera’s third goal of the season.
Vancouver had a golden chance to double its advantage in the second half as Fredy Montero had an opportunity from the penalty spot. But Melia would be up to the task on that occasion, making a double stop to keep his side in the contest.
