The Colorado Rapids haven’t had much luck in front of goal this season, but Dominique Badji helped them score one to remember against the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Rapids entered play with just five goals scored in eight games. However, they exploded at home against the Earthquakes, scoring three times on their way to a 3-0 victory over the visitors. And the best goal of the bunch came from Shkelzen Gashi, with a big help from Badji.

With the Rapids up 2-0 in the 56th minute, Badji got onto the end of a long ball. He lost his footing, but held up possession against the defender. Then, while on the ground, he delivered a perfect ball to Gashi through the legs of a second defender. Gashi smashed home a shot that left David Bingham with no chance, making it 3-0 and completing his brace.

Badji already had a solid day to that point, having scored his third goal of the year earlier in the contest. Gashi’s goals were his first of the season.
The win is Colorado’s second of the campaign and snaps both a five-game losing streak and an eight-game winless slide.
