Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco has received "big money" offers from two Chinese Super League clubs, according to his agent.

The representative, Andrea D'Amico, said he has been in touch with Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko about the interest coming from the up-and-coming league.

"I spoke with Bezbatchenko tonight just to inform him," D'Amico told Canadian internet broadcaster Anthony Totera.

"I think Giovinco is an important asset for not only Toronto, but for MLS," D'Amico added. "I know Seba is very happy to stay in Toronto, but also, as we can see in this period, the Chinese market is increasing day by day."

Giovinico still has three years remaining on the five-year contract he signed with Toronto in 2015, but CSL clubs have proven that they're not scared to pay top dollar for talent.

The Chinese league already made Carlos Tevez the world's highest-paid player when he left Boca Juniors for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua earlier this month. Chelsea's Oscar and John Obi Mikel are among the players to join the league during the January transfer window.

Giovinco, the 2015 MLS MVP, is currently earning $7.15 million a season. It is believed that his salary could be doubled if he were to leave Canada for China.

"It's very, very big money," D'Amico said.

D'Amico also pointed out that his Italian client turned down an offer from Barcelona, citing his "love" for Toronto.

"He refused, one year ago, the opportunity to sign a loan with Barcelona because he loves to stay in Toronto," D'Amico said. "He wants to win with Toronto."
