Tim Howard has picked up a three-match suspension after an incident with a fan following the Colorado Rapids' 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City on April 9.
The veteran goalkeeper has been handed a three-game ban and a fine for foul language toward a fan during the match at Children's Mercy Park and for an altercation with a fan following the game.
"Tim Howard made an unfortunate and regrettable mistake for which he is being disciplined by MLS," read a team statement on the Rapids' website. "While this is out of character for Tim, we do not condone these actions. We accept the league’s decision and look forward to moving past this."
Colorado hosts Real Salt Lake on April 15 before facing Minnesota (April 23) and Orlando City (April 29) on the road.
