Real Salt Lake announced Monday the signing of forward Chad Barrett, who joins the Utah side as a free agent.
“Chad is a hard-working competitor with a nose for the goal,” RSL general manager Craig Waibel said said in a team statement. “He’s proven throughout his career that he can be an impact player either as a starter or off the bench and we’re happy to add him to the locker room.”

Barrett, 31, has spent time with six other MLS clubs since becoming a professional in 2005. He has spent his entire career in the North American league, aside from a brief loan stint at Norwegian side Valerenga in 2012.
With 58 goals and 31 assists in 275 career MLS matches, Barrett is 35th on the league's all-time scoring list. He stands seventh among active MLS scorers.
