With the best record in Major League Baseball, the Philadelphia Phillies are considered one of the best teams this season. This belief has been further cemented since the club has more players in the All-Star starting roster than any other team.
The Phillies have three players named to the starting rotation for the National League All-Star team: Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, and Trea Turner.
Most everyone knew that Harper would make the team since he had earned more votes than any other player in the first round, an honor he shares with Aaron Judge for the American League. Despite this, there is still a question regarding whether he'll be able to play in the game since he is currently on the injured list for the Phillies.
The most surprising addition from Philadelphia is Turner. While he has had an exceptional season, Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers was the clear frontrunner going into the final round of voting. However, Betts was injured when he was hit by a pitch on June 15, and he hasn't played since, opening a path to victory for Turner.
Other teams that had multiple players include the San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Cleveland Guardians, and Houston Astros, with two players each. Both All-Star teams only represent five different teams in their starting lineup.
