Hopes are on the rise in the Bronx as the Yankees prepare to begin spring training after an injury-wracked 2023 season.
New York made MLB's biggest trade of the winter, acquiring Juan Soto from the Padres in December to join the likes of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in an imposing batting order for Aaron Boone.
Pitching is the more significant concern beyond 2023 Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole, as the Yankees allowed 25 more runs than they scored in scuffling to an 82-80 record last year. Veteran Marcus Stroman, another offseason addition, should help there, but there is plenty of work left to do.
That work begins in earnest in Tampa, where the Yankees will tune up for the 2024 campaign and plot their return to contention in the AL East and beyond.

While the Yankees will play a full slate of games in Florida through March 25, they will send a split squad to Mexico City for games against the Mexican League's Diablos Rojos on March 24 and 25.
