There is no greater rivalry in American sports than that between the Yankees and Red Sox.

The two franchises first met in 1903 and haven't looked back since, furthering the fuel between New York and Boston. To add to the fire, the two are divisional rivals in the AL East, meaning games are worth more than bragging rights. It sometimes means a battle for postseason success, too, as the two most recently met in the 2021 wild card game where Boston clinched its bid to the playoffs.

Regardless of how good or bad the teams are doing, the Yankees-Red Sox battle is fierce. And this year, the race is tight. Only a few games separated the teams at the All-Star break.

Still, the Yankees have some catching up to do. After two series matchups and six games, Boston leads the season 4-2. There's plenty of time for New York to catch up with seven regular season games left.

It continues on July 26 as the Red Sox host their rivals at Fenway for a three-game series. Here's how to get the best tickets to baseball's biggest rivalry.
