Division rivals clash with major implications on the line when the Red Sox host the Yankees on ESPN's presentation of "Sunday Night Baseball."

The Yankees return to Boston for the first time since mid-June, when their season flipped. Since that point, New York is a meager 10-22, the second-worst record in baseball.

The Yankees still tout plenty of firepower, with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto leading the way. The two All-Stars entered the weekend atop MLB with a 1.106 and 1.035 OPS, respectively, accounting for one of baseball's premier duos.

The Red Sox surely hope that returning home will end their post-All-Star Break malaise. Boston went just 1-5 on a six-game trip to Los Angeles and Colorado, though their offense showed significant promise, averaging nearly six runs per game.

All-Star Tanner Houck will take the ball for Alex Cora's squad. Houck has a 2.71 ERA this season, anchoring Boston's stalwart rotation.

After tonight, the two rivals will not meet again until mid-September. So far, the Red Sox have the upper-hand, leading the season series 4-2. The games are only growing in importance, as the two teams jostle for playoff positioning, with the Yankees trying to stave off the Red Sox in the standings.
