The summer is every New Yorker's favorite time of the year. It means it's time for the Subway Series. The Yankees face the Mets in a battle of the Bronx versus Queens.
The modern-day rivalry between the two was first held in 1997, but the Subway Series goes back to the days of the New York Giants and Dodgers when trolleys still made the city run.
Either way, the matchup between NYC teams only happens a few days a year with the two-game series happening just twice in a season. The Yankees and Mets split last year's faceoff, each winning one game in the series.
Fans can expect the Yankees to take control of this year's battle, as the hometown team is one of the top teams in the MLB right now. But the Mets are riding a high, losing just two of their last 11 games.
