Chris Sale will be the latest pitcher attempting to slow down a potent New York lineup on Friday night when the Braves meet the Yankees in the Bronx.

Sale is enjoying a career renaissance this season, his first with the Braves. The 35-year-old left-hander enters Friday's start at 9-2 with a 2.98 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 81.2 IP. After injury-riddled campaigns in each of the last five seasons, Sale is on pace for his best campaign since 2018.

His success will be put to the test against the lethal combination of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. The Yankees' one-two punch has been dynamite. Soto's 1.018 OPS ranks second in all of baseball, trailing only Judge, who has a 1.115 OPS, making his April struggles a distant memory.

But Judge has struggled in their career against Sale, the funky lefty; Judge is batting .200 with 1 HR in 25 AB against Sale. Soto, in a much smaller sample size, is 1-for-5 with a home run.
