Now, the big question is whether the veteran can rediscover his groove at the plate. Teixeira is hitting only .180/.271/.263 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 167 at-bats in 2016.
Teixeira is expected to start at first base and bat sixth against Twins right-hander Ervin Santana in Saturday afternoon's game at Yankee Stadium.
