Aaron Boone seems to really like the Yankees' acquisition of DJ LeMahieu in the free-agent market this offseason.
On a night in which LeMahieu led off for New York, went 2 for 4 and hit a home run and a double while driving in two runs in a 4-1 win over the Red Sox, Boone was vivid in his description of LeMahieu's worth.
"He's out there to rip your heart out," Boone told reporters, via The Athletic.

It's a graphic depiction of LeMahieu's game, but it's not the worst one either.
In a Yankees lineup that features a lot of high-strikeout bats and even higher pitch counts, LeMahieu goes up to the plate looking to do damage.
The veteran infielder has struck out more than 100 times just once in his career and routinely makes contact while posting low walk rates.
What has resulted for the Yankees this season is LeMahieu is second on the team in batting average (.317) and in runs scored (36).
And in a season where the Yankees have had to deal with a large amount of injuries, LeMahieu has given New York a consistent bat at the top of the lineup and has the team among the leaders in MLB in runs scored.
So whether you want to call that a guy ripping hearts out or just leading a team that really needs a leader, that's up to you.
But LeMahieu has been exactly what the Yankees have needed this year.
