Less than a week ago, it appeared the World Series might be headed for a rematch. The Astros and Phillies both went back home with a 3-2 series lead in hand, but neither came away with a single win in their own ballparks.
With Houston and Philadelphia out of the picture, the Fall Classic will be contested by two teams no one saw coming when the season began. The Rangers and Diamondbacks are set to face off in the 2023 World Series, meaning either Texas will win its first championship or Arizona will claim its first title since 2001.
For fans who grew tired of seeing the Astros or Dodgers routinely on this stage, this year's matchup is a hit. The Rangers and Diamondbacks both blend well-known veterans with current and future stars. Which underdog will walk away with immortality?
