Royals' World Series parade turns Kansas City into traffic nightmare image

The World Series trophy is in Kansas City for the first time in 30 years thanks to the Royals' thrilling 4-1 series victory over the Mets in the Fall Classic.

But it didn't take long for the championship parade to turn into a traffic nightmare. Fans treated the situation like a southern snowstorm: abandoning their cars on the side of the highway so they could make it to the parade epicenter.

It's a good thing the Nationals missed out on the playoffs because Washington, D.C., would have had to shut down for a week to accommodate a parade route. But this is what happens when you have to wait 30 years for a World Series title.
