While the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs battle for the 2016 MLB championship, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has opened wagering on the 2017 World Series, making the Cubs the heavy favorites to win it all next season.
The sports book lists the Cubs at 3-to-1 odds, then there’s a substantial gap to a trio of teams with the next shortest odds. The Dodgers, Nationals and Red Sox are all priced at 10/1.
The Indians, at 12/1, are among the next tier of teams that also includes the Mets and Astros.
“(The Cubs) are priced so low because they will have a win total of close to 100,” Westgate oddsmaker Ed Salmons said in a text message to Omnisport.
