CLEVELAND — "Only Happy When It Rains" by Garbage played from the loudspeaker at the Gateway Plaza outside Progressive Field around 3 p.m. Wednesday, but Cleveland and Chicago fans might not be happy if that gets in the way Wednesday night.
First pitch of Game 2 of the World Series was moved up to 7:08 p.m. because of concerns of wet weather later Wednesday, and a light rain fell in the early afternoon outside the park. The tarp was on the field.

Conditions might not improve. According to weather.com, temperatures will stay below 50 degrees through game time, and the chance for rain will be 50 percent or better from 9 p.m. through 1 a.m. Thursday.
What would that potentially mean?
World Series games have been postponed in the past, including Game 6 of the 2011 World Series between St. Louis and Texas.

A World Series game has been suspended, too. That happened in 2008, when the Rays and Phillies were tied at 2-2 in the sixth inning. That game was completed two days later. The Chicago Tribune reported there has never been a rain-shortened game in World Series history.
Cleveland leads the World Series 1-0 after a 6-0 win against the Cubs on Tuesday. Game 3 is scheduled for Chicago on Friday.
