Wake Forest is the top seed in the NCAA baseball tournament and they have a chance to stamp their ticket to the College World Series final on Wednesday.
LIVE: Follow updates from Wake Forest vs. LSU at College World Series
The Demon Deacons will be facing LSU on Wednesday as each battles for the right to represent Bracket 2 in the best-of-three CWS championship. Wake Forest has already beaten LSU 3-2 earlier in the tournament, so the Demon Deacons hold an edge over the Tigers in the double-elimination playoff format.
The Tigers are coming into the game with some momentum, having shut out Tennessee 5-0 in an elimination game on Tuesday. However, Wake Forest has been a dominant force in the postseason, earning a 9-1 record, so LSU's path to the championship series will not be easy.
A lot is on the line for Wake Forest, which is trying to capture its first tournament title since 1955.
LSU, meanwhile, has six titles to its name. Skip Bertman led the Tigers to five titles in his tenure before the team captured a sixth in 2009 under Paul Mainieri. Jay Johnson will look to match the latter's feat this season.
