Toronto Blue Jays star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit against the New York Yankees in the top of the seventh inning to cut the deficit to six runs, resulting in a rain of boos coming down from fans.
As Guerrero rounded third base amid a rain of boos on his solo home run, which cut the Yankees lead to 9-3, he put his index finger to his lips, shushing the crowd.
At the moment, it appeared to be in very poor taste. Hitting a silencer celebration down six runs when the game appeared to be out of reach just looks tacky.

In Guerrero's defense, the star power hitter said after the game he does the celebration every time he hits a home run. “It’s something that I do everywhere regardless of the situation,” Guerrero said through a translator.
Be that as it may, that didn't stop the internet from doing its thing.

I think it’s just his homer celebration but to do it down 6 is wild. https://t.co/nIWlVPyFPV

The solo homer did help spark a rally in which the Blue Jays almost erased said deficit, but they ultimately fell 9-8 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night.
