Dodgers announcer Vin Scully says 2016 will 'be the last one' image

Legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully announced Friday he'll be back in 2016 and on Saturday said that will be it for him.

"I would say realistically — I don't want any headlines — but I would say next year would be the last one," he said, via CTV News. "How much longer can you go fooling people?"

Scully, who turns 88 in November, has been an icon in the booth for decades. After 2016, he'll have been in the business for 67 years with the same franchise.

"I do feel in my bones that will be enough for sure and I'm sure the people will say that will be enough as well," he said Saturday.

He told the media Saturday that his doctor encouraged him to continue his job because it makes him happy. He also doesn't want to become "old." While he still loves what he does, he did admit the job can be difficult at times considering his age.

"It's a fight some days to really kick myself and get going."

Scully still hasn't said how much he'll be working next year. He currently calls all Dodgers home games and road games in California and Arizona.
