Trade from Rockies remains sore subject for Troy Tulowitzki image

Troy Tulowitzki says he digs it with the Blue Jays and looks forward to doing “something special” in Toronto.

Just don’t ask him about how he got there.

The former Rockies All-Star didn’t pull any punches when asked about the trade last season by Colorado GM Jeff Bridich that sent Tulowitzki to Canada.

“I’ll never talk to him, never talk to those people,’’ Tulowitzki told USA Today. “You get lied to, straight to your face, you get upset. I believe in forgiveness, but at the same time, I don’t plan on being friendly with them, or anything like that.’’

USA Today describes Tulowitzki as screaming at Bridich when he was informed of the trade while on the road at Wrigley Field. Tulo had asked to be informed if and when a deal was imminent. In the report, Bridich acknowledged he kept things quiet for good reason ... deals that big can easily get derailed when word leaks.

Then the Rockies' GM added this zinger:

“Frankly, I think it’s a crime that the media does what it does,’’ Bridich said, “basically creating stories and creating lies, and not even considering players and their families and their loved ones. Basically, the media has lost all respect for what rumors and innuendo can do to a player and the players’ families.

“I have great respect for [Blue Jays GM] Alex [Anthopoulos] that we were able to keep those conversations to ourselves. It’s nearly impossible this day and age, because nobody really looks out for the people involved. The media just looks out for themselves now.’’
